Black-eyed Susan – Relief & Embossed Print
Print Size: 5” x 7”
Hand block printed and embossed on fine art paper
Prints in this edition: 20
Black-eyed Susan grew from a small observation in the meadow — a cluster of flowers and the tiny life moving among them. The flowers are pressed softly into the paper through embossing, while a delicate block-printed ant rests along one of the leaves. Rather than simply capturing the flowers as they appeared, the piece focuses on the small interaction that made the scene worth stopping for. Each print is carved, inked, and pressed by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.
Together, the flowers and ant preserve a fleeting moment that might otherwise disappear into the background of summer growth. It is a quiet reminder that the things we remember are often not the grand moments, but the small details that catch our attention when we take the time to look.
Black-eyed Susan is part of the Meadowland collection, a series about small moments in nature, quiet encounters, and the traces they leave behind. Each piece transforms an observation into a physical object, preserving not only what was seen, but what made it worth remembering. Prints are editioned and include a certificate of authenticity.
