Wishes grew from a familiar summer ritual — a dandelion gone to seed, caught in the brief moment before its delicate parachutes disappear into the wind. The stem is hand block printed while the drifting seeds are pressed directly into the paper through embossing. Rather than simply capturing a dandelion, the piece holds onto the fleeting movement that makes the moment worth noticing. The changing light across the raised paper brings the seeds in and out of view, much like the real moment itself. Each print is made by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.

There is something wonderfully familiar about watching dandelion seeds scatter with a single breath or passing breeze. It is a small moment, but one that carries its own memories — childhood wishes, summer afternoons, and the simple pleasure of watching something disappear into the air.

Wishes is part of the Meadowland collection, a series about small moments in nature, quiet encounters, and the traces they leave behind. Each piece begins with an observation and becomes a physical object through printmaking and embossing, preserving not simply what was seen, but what made the moment worth remembering.
